3D2N Road Trip to Penang Island

Hello Penang Island!!

Went on a road trip to Penang Island last two weeks with Jack, Seng Loh and Christy (double date as usual, hehe). Just the four of us! We managed to travel there in a safe, pleasant and comfortable manner thanks to Volkswagen Malaysia for allowing us to use the luxury sedan, Volkswagen Passat.

The exterior of the sedan is so eye-catching. Look at the fierce LED Daytime Running Lights and LED Tail lights, it's just so outstanding! I'm always a fan of Volkswagen.

The interior comes with a classic analogue clock at the dashboard, leather gear knob with 7-speed direct shift gearbox DSG and a multi-function leather steering wheel with control for MFD, radio and paddle shift. The front seats comes with an electric 12-way adjustment which I absolutely love. I can adjust the seat according to the comfort I need with so little limits!

Let's go!! ♥

We depart from Petaling Jaya at 11A.M. and managed to reach Georgetown at 2.30P.M. It only took us 3 & the half hours to reach with two Rest Stops on the way. The journey was so smooth and stable till we actually drove 200km/hr without realizing how fast we are going. *Oops! Haha.

Besides, I am so SURPRISED with the VW Passat fuel efficiency! It only took us one and the half tank of petrol all the way from Petaling Jaya, to and fro Batu Ferringhi and Georgetown during our 3 days stay and back to Petaling Jaya. The 1.8l 160PS TSI turbocharged direct petrol injection 4-cylinder engine is so awesome with a capacity of 70 litres of petrol.

I'm the driver of the roadtrip! :D Vrooom ~~

Just joking! We took turns to drive. I can't drive for such long hours.

Happy us in this comfortable sedan. :)

We stayed at The Bayview Beach Resort, Batu Ferringhi because we want to repeat our history (we used to stay here the previous time we came to Penang) and we want to be near the beach. Checking-in!!

Sampat-ing in our room's balcony. Haha

I love the beach. It's like the best escape; I feel so calm and free..

(but Penang beach cannot make it. Just gonna make use of the sound of the waves)

Trying to get those kinda sweet tumblr photo..

Ok failed.

Swimming time!

So, the main purpose of this road trip is Food Hunting and, of course! Not forgetting the night life in Penang. ;)

Our first destination, Sister's Char Koay Teow located at Lorong Selamat.

This plate of Char Koay Teow comes with three big prawns and it is fried to perfection! She cooks serving by serving so it does take a lil time for it to arrives. But it's worth the wait when there's some hot fried raddish cake and oyster omelette to fill in a bit of the tummy.

We had this again the next day so I'm gonna double up the photos of the food. Yummmms I'm getting hungry now.

Bigger portion of Char Koay Teow comes with four big juicy prawns!

For seafood, we had our dinner at Bali Hai Seafood Restaurant around Gurney.

The next day, we had Air Itam's Asam Laksa for lunch.

So rich, think and flavorful. I miss it already. The best asam laksa I've ever eaten! :p

We then head to Penang Road Famous Teochew Cendol but it was raining that time. We ran under the rain anyway and managed to find a spot in Joo Hooi's cafe.

Sweet, gula melaka, cendol, red beans.... I miss.

Had their rojak as well. The sauce is sooo good.

This prawn noodles is the best for supper, I swear. It's so savoury. Located at 338, Jalan Tokong Thai Pak Koong. Must try!

Had some drinks at some bar in Penang, I forgot the name of it. Jack's friends were there to teach us some new dice games! I call it the Penang Dice game hahaha.

Second round!

We decided to take a walk around Penang Island before we leave. It was a very good and fun trip with awesome companion. ♥

Thank you Volkswagen Malaysia once again for the allowing us to bring the amazing VW Passat for a road trip. It was a very luxury sedan with a good performance for a long journey and we had a safe, comfortable and fun ride throughout our trip to Penang Island. :)
