[Review] Shiseido Tsubaki Shining Range - Shine From Every Angle

Shiseido Tsubaki has always been my ideal shampoo and conditioner brand for over a year now. I started using Tsubaki Shining range since 2013 when my sister randomly picked up a bottle of Tsubaki Shining shampoo and conditioner from Japan. I simply gave it a try and it was AMAZING. Since then, I fell in love with this impressive hair product and I've been using Tsubaki Shining shampoo and conditioner until today!

Tsubaki (a.k.a camellia flower in Japanese) is a premium hair care brand from Japan and it is the only brand that contains camellia oil in it's ingredient. The use of camellia oil is an ancient Japanese beauty secret to create the glorious smoothness and sheen of Japanese hairstyles. Camellia oil work wonders as it protects and coats hair to dramatically improve hair shininess and smoothness with shine sensor mechanism. Camellia oil also has a light sweet floral fragrance that lingers in the hair.

What causes hair to loss shininess?

Hair melanin can loss daily due to UV and other factors. It creates holes that causes irregular reflection and loss of shine of hair.

How to get back shine and Shine From Every Angle?

Internal shininess
Arginine to repair melanin hole to allow light to be reflected evenly

External shininess
Camelia oil with shine sensor mechanism

Tsubaki Shining Shampoo

This shampoo is extraordinary. It keeps my hair shiny and soft from the first wash. It leaves a satiny smooth texture to my hair which makes my hair more manageable. Just one and the half pump of this pretty shimmery white shampoo is definitely more than enough to lather out and massage into my long hair. It cleans well and rinse off easily. Not forgetting the blend of flower and fruit fragrance from the shampoo - I absolutely love it. This lovely scent could be all over the bathroom while I am bathing. :)

Tsubaki Shining Conditioner

The amazing thing that this conditioner do to my hair is maintain the moisture and when I touch my hair it does not feel tangled at all. This conditioner is very thick, creamy and it spread onto my hair ends easily. I usually leave the conditioner on my hair for a few minutes before I rinse it off and it has a similar scent to the shampoo. This conditioner keeps my hair silky smooth even when my hair is wet. I usually can't run my fingers through my hair but after using this conditioner, my hair is easier to comb and no longer frizzy.

Tsubaki Shining Hair Mask

This hair mask works as my weekly hair and scalp treatment. It brings continuous penetrative treatment for deep moisture replenishment to the hair core. This hair mask repairs and conditions my dull and rough hair resulting in softer hair with lustrous shine. It is thicker, creamier and have the same scent as compared to the conditioner but is blended with ingredients of continuous treatment. It keeps my hair shiny and healthy all day long due to the continuous moisturizing effect.

How to use:
1. Once a week, massage mask from scalp to hair tips.
2. Wrap hair and leave on for 20 minutes.
3. Rinse off with warm water.

shine from every angle

My all-time favourite shampoo and conditioner is definitely Tsubaki Shining. My hair used to be very dull and dry due to uncountable hair chemical services throughout the years. I love long hair but it is such a hassle to maintain long hair. A girl like me will never give up a single inch of my hair even when it's in a very bad condition. After using Tsubaki Shining for more than a year, my hair never look so healthy and shiny before and I am so impressed! I can comb and style my hair as I want without afraid of my hair looking dull. Thanks to Tsubaki Shining I can now have lustrous smooth, healthy and deeply moisturized long hair, not forgetting the pleasant and lovely fragrance of Tsubaki that lingers on my hair.

Tsubaki promises one thing, SHINE FROM EVERY ANGLE.

Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert @ 1 Utama

Last weekend, I was invited for a food tasting dinner at Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert, 1 Utama with my sister Raine Lee and other bloggers. Contrary to its name, Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert offers more than just mouthwatering desserts. It have a wide variety of authentic Hong Kong style noodles, dim sums, rice as well as snacks and drinks. We were generously served with 7 dishes and 1 bottomless drink so we can have a taste of almost everything in the menu.

"I came for noodles and stayed for dessert!"

Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert is a perfect one-stop-shop for me to have everything with more than 60 selections from the menu. Why not skip the city jam and have a lovely dinner? :)

Green Lime Plum Juice RM 5.90
I never liked plum juice but this drink is exceptional. It is sweet and not too sour which is just nice. The lime makes the whole drink so refreshing which I like. :)

Crispy Salmon Skin with Pork Floss RM 5.90
Just perfect to snack on. Tasty, crispy and savoury.

Duo of HK Siew Mai RM 5.90 & Carrot Cake RM 5.90
I love the carrot cake. It's slightly crispy on the outside, so yummy. The HK Siew Mai is enjoyable but there is no dipping sauce to go with.

SK Signature Combination Noodle RM 16.90
The taste of the noodles is a bit too bland for me but it comes with a bowl of soup and some sauce for extra flavor. The dumplings are good tho.

Braised Pork Belly with Mui Choi Rice RM 13.90
The mui choi is really delicious! Pork belly is well seasoned but a bit too much of fats which I don't fancy.

Snowy Char Siew Bun RM 6.90
This is heavenly! The bun is crunchy yet melts in your mouth. It has a sweet taste and when combined with delectable char siew, so irresistible.

SK Mango Pomelo Sago RM 8.90
The signature dessert which is rich in mango flavor, sweet and cold.

Yuan Yang Paste RM  6.90
It consists of black sesame and almond.

Yummy ~ Can't wait to eat.

Enjoyed dinner with my gorgeous sis ♥ Had so much fun laughing with each other.

GUINNESS® Amplify: Curates - Supporting More Malaysian Musicians

I attended Guinness® Amplify: Curates 'pop-up' show at Publika on Saturday 21st March to pledge my support for our talented Malaysian musicians. Guinness Amplify: Curates is an extension of the successful Guinness Amplify: Music Made of More campaign in 2014. The concept of Guinness Amplify: Curates is ‘paying it forward’, i.e. local artists that Amplify has supported, supporting other local acts in turn. Guinness Amplify: Curates gigs featured Froya, an established local artist, who chose 2-3 more local acts to share a stage with, giving them a chance to share their music.

The 'pop-up' show at Publika featured three talented local mucisians namely Jumero, Rozella and +2dB. This 'pop-up' show gives the public a sneak peak of the main show. I came just in time for Rozella and +2dB's live performance. :)

Rozella's amazing live performance.

+2dB's on stage serenading the crowd.

The 'Pledge Wall'
Fans pledged their support for extraordinary local musicians by signing their name with supportive message to be placed on the wall.

Pledging my support to the talented local artist :)
'Make Malaysia proud with amazing music and never give up!!'

On 11th April 2015, I get to watch their live performances again during the first Guinness Amplify: Curates show as the official launch for Froya’s new album, Panic Bird. Other than Froya's album launch, the purpose of this show is to see some of our already-established musicians invite lesser-known acts to take the stage with them and share the limelight. Froya 'pay it forward' and share the stage with three of her favourite local supporting acts that was hand-picked herself for an opportunity to get on the stage and shine.

The night started off with Froya's East-Malaysian singer/songwriter Rozella. No stranger to the scene in her hometown of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Rozella dreamlike vocals and haunting melodies proved equal popular with the Kuala Lumpur crowd.

Froya introduced Rozella to the audience, stated that she had invited the award-winning songwriter to join her at Guiness Amplify: Curates to help showcase the incredible musical talent East Malaysia had to offer.

Next to perform was hippie-beach-pop trio Jumero, veterans of the past year's Amplify campaign. Jumero performed a number of fan-favourite songs alongside a wealth of new material from their new upcoming album and some classic songs.

Jumero's live performance had the crowd entertained and on their feet with their drinks held high.

Rounding off the evening’s support was electronica duo +2dB. The pair's dark, ethereal soundscapes have long been a hit with those in the know in KL’s music scene, and fans old and new were treated to a set brimming with atmospheric, otherworldly harmonies and evocative vocals. In her introduction to the set, Froya noted her respect for +2dB’s Jo Ann and Jeannie, paying tribute to the duo’s creative bravery and unique sound.

The long awaited Froya finally took the stage to officially launch her debut album, 'Panic Bird'. Taking the crowd on a journey through the inspirations and meanings behind the new record, Froya’s passion for her craft shone through as she gave one of the most stunning performances of her career.

Featuring tracks written and perfected over the past 6 years, fans enjoyed specially-arranged versions of their favourites including new single ‘Dawn’, alongside brand new material performed live for the very first time at Amplify: Curates.

Thanking her fans for their continued support, Froya urged the crowd to raise their glasses of GUINNESS® in a toast to the phenomenal talent of Malaysian musicians whose creative bravery inspires others to make their own bold choices in life, capping off another evening of incredible live music courtesy of GUINNESS® Amplify.

Froya’s debut album ‘Panic Bird’ is available now on CD and digital download, priced at RM25. For more information on how and where to purchase a copy, log on to
